“I believe in intuitions and inspirations...I sometimes feel that I am right. I do not know that I am.”
When I was little my mom would emphasize the importance of not wasting paper. The temptation to scrap a sheet with an accidental indent, rough erasure marks or rejected gesture was great. It took a while, but eventually my dad gifted me a Cirque de Soleil sketchbook during the Christmas of 09’ and I have felt the joy of completing over ten volumes ever since. The pages are kin to journals and are also a place for my ongoing to-do’s. The base of everything that I create is found within these works; Slowly cementing my still developing process in the intimate & personal, which I enshrine.

The practice of drawing the human figure from life builds empathy, patience, tolerance, and appreciation for human diversity. No matter what your background or experience, life drawing encourages one to examine and engage with life through this lens.
A certain Rennaisance artist was believed to have said, "everything you need to know about architecture, engineering, and beauty can be learned by the study of the human body."
